8 Day Egypt Itinerary - Amazing Cairo and Dahabiya Tour

Your day commences with a journey to the legendary Giza Plateau. Here, you will stand in the shadow of the Great Pyramids, the sole surviving wonder of the ancient world, and contemplate the eternal mystery of the Great Sphinx and Valley Temple. 

After a midday pause for authentic Egyptian cuisine, you will be granted privileged entry to the monumental new Grand Egyptian Museum. During its pre-opening phase, you'll be among the first to experience its soaring Grand Hall and preview its unparalleled collections of ancient treasures before being chauffeured back to your hotel.

Begin your day delving into the layered history of Cairo. Your first destination is the imposing Citadel of Salah El Din, a medieval fortress crowned by the exquisite Alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali. From there, you will journey into the spiritual heart of Old Cairo, wandering its ancient lanes to discover the architectural marvel of the Hanging Church and the sacred crypt of the Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus. Following lunch, your historical immersion culminates at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. Its centerpiece, the Royal Mummies Hall, offers a profound encounter with Egypt’s revered pharaohs and queens, presented in a state-of-the-art gallery. A day rich with discovery concludes with your return to the hotel.

Today, you will leave Cairo for the vibrant city of Aswan. Your tour manager will meet you in the morning at your hotel and accompany you to Cairo Airport for your flight. Upon arrival in Aswan, you will be assisted and taken in a private air-conditioned vehicle to board your luxurious Nuun and Nuut Dahabiyas, which offer a high level of privacy.

Enjoy a delightful lunch on board while sailing to Kom Ombo. Once you arrive, explore the town of Kom Ombo and visit the unusual temple with its two identical entrances and sanctuaries. After your visit, return to your dahabiya for a delicious dinner.

Start your day with a delicious breakfast on board as you sail to Gebel Silsila. Upon arrival at the ancient quarries, visit the rock-cut Temple of Hormoheb and hike to the top of Silsila Mountain for breathtaking views. Afterward, return to your dahabiya for lunch as you sail to Fawaza Island. Enjoy tea on the sun deck while watching the magnificent sunset before having dinner on board.

Enjoy another delightful breakfast as you sail to Edfu. Visit the Edfu Temple, one of the best-preserved temples from the Greco-Roman era, dedicated to Horus. After returning to your dahabiya, enjoy lunch as you sail to El Kab village, where you will visit the El Kab Temple. Stroll through the picturesque village with its mud-brick houses before returning to your dahabiya for a warm and delicious dinner.

Enjoy your last morning on the dahabiya with a tasty breakfast while sailing to Esna. Upon arrival, disembark and continue your journey to Luxor. Visit the magnificent Karnak Temple and the iconic Valley of the Kings, known for its elaborate Pharaonic tombs.

After soaking in the spirit of Luxor, you will be transferred to Luxor Airport for your flight back to Cairo. Upon your arrival, your tour manager will meet you and transfer you back to your luxurious boutique hotel in the bustling city of Cairo.
